Pearl is a cold water mermaid who left Neverland years ago to pursue her interest in recording and translating Whale Song. She is a bit of a pariah in Mer-Society for this life path but Pearl is not a typical bubble-head mermaid. She likes to use her brain. Still, she is a mermaid at heart and thus loves pretty things, delights in making mischief, and excels at stirring up trouble. Since Peter Pan has forbidden the drowning of any of the pirates, Pearl makes do with merely pestering and annoying them. Her favorite target? Captain Hook of course. In fact she is really rather fond of him and doesn't even want to drown him most of the time. Pearl has a dirty little family secret to guard.
