I have always been very fascinated by the ancient Paleolithic cave paintings found in France and surrounding areas in Europe. As a child, I had a tattered copy of the National Geographic magazine with pictures of the painted caves at Lascaux and Chauvet-Pont-d'Arc. Some of the ancient paintings are thought to be as old as 30,000 years and are some of the earliest expressions of art by humans.
